Built a deck and railings with Perennial wood last year, which is an acetylated southern yellow pine product essentially the same as "Accoya". I was quite favorably impressed with it. Wondering if anyone has built a deck using Accoya or Kebony? I did more research on Perennial wood and it's not the same as Accoya. Similar idea, but not executed the same and the company is gone I believe.

I'm in Los Angeles and debating putting in an ipe deck or using something else. I like that Accoya has a lighter color, though it does turn gray like any wood if the finish is not maintained.

Accoya Wood - We are still debating. First plan is to get the inside of our house done. Price of lumber is so high right now, we may wait to put in a deck. Sounds like the tropical woods haven't gone up at the same rate as regular lumber. And I'm not sure about Accoya. Who is the local vendor I would reach out to in the Los Angeles area?

Hi we are considering Accoya wood for our deck. I received a sample last week - i love the look of it — beautiful. The only thing I noticed is that it scratches very easily when rubbed on it with my nails accidentally. I don’t know if this is just happening because is the sample wood. The scratches are very visible. I would like to hear from someone who has Accoya deck and whether scratches are a problem. Thanks!

i wish i could find out if it scratches or dents. would love to know the disadvantages if used for a deck

We got burned out remodeling the inside of our house. Still have to do the front patio/deck. Do you have a picture of the Accoya sample and the scratches? If you stained it, do you think the scratches would be as noticeable?

Thanks for sharing! Hmm… looks like you buy it for that gray color… you wouldn’t want to stain over that I don’t think… it does show those scratches a lot. Hmmm. What does the vendor say about that?
