Pump and Paint recommendation.

This is a great forum

I acquired a pool that was built in the 50's when I bought my house in NJ 15 years ago -- typical 22 x 42 rectangle pool. The pool was in surprisingly good shape for being that old. The pool was sandblasted then I primed and painted it with epoxy (white) paint. I think it was called Poxoln -- it is just starting to show roller marks after more than 10 years! The only problem I ever had with the paint was some chalking - but it was a minor problem - what is the current recommendation regarding paint for pools??

Also - When I upgraded the pool piping I installed 1" water lines to three

large planters to turn them into fountains. I also installed an extra 1 1/2" return line to act as a water source for a pump. I never did get around to installing a separate pump - The fountains can only run when the filter/ heater is on. It would be nice to finally add a pump to be able to run this independently. Can anyone recommend a suitable pump. The fountains are plumbed with 1/2 pipe from the pool deck through the planters to the spouts -- they currently make about a 4 foot arc to the pool.
