From what I have read on the forums here, it will take a week or two for the water to settle down into the true color you choose. (Maybe between the brushing you do and the chemicals.) I have seen others write to those that were concerned to not worry about it, give it some time.

We just finished with the quartzscape Tahoe Blue. It looked really bad at first.We did an acid bath for over two weeks. what a difference it makes. The color at first show horrible trowel marks, blotchy color, and also looked nothing like what we picked. But after two weeks of letting the acid do it's job and scrubbing it looks better than what we were showed. the hardest part was waiting. so be patient it will look great. Also we knew of a couple with the same color and did an acid wash instead of a bath and had nothing but trouble.

We are about to have our pool replastered and it's been reccomended by the plaster company to stay away from any Quartzscape plaster with dye any it like tahoe blue, midnight blue, etc. They said that if we didn't keep the Ph level right a film would build up and we would have to drain the pool and acid wash every couple of years. They suggested we go with the level one colors like blue, ivory, super blue, etc. Has anyone had problems like this? Has anyone used Aruba Sky? What is the difference between Diamond Brite and Quartzscapes? Any other information would be helpful. We were told that we would have to brush the pool for several weeks afterwards. What is with acid wash/bath after the initial plaster?

roadking... if you are still on this board... we are on day 4 of start up and did quartzscapes Tahoe blue. we are so unhappy. it looks like a smurf went splat in our pool. is this how yours looked? Your post gives me hope!

Hi Nashboys. Is your Tahoe blue looking any better now? We are on the verge of picking a quartz finish rather than plaster for its longevity but haven't seen a finished quartz pool in person. Don't want pebble cuz I don't like how it feels. I hope your finish has gotten better over the past week. Can you post a pic? Thank you.

Pool looks great, the owner loves the finish and color is very even. Personally not a fan of the shark but that's what the homeowner wanted.

Our new pool was plastered on May 10, 2021 with Quartzscape midnight Blue. The builder put acid on it, brushed it, and then washed it. Their method of putting the acid was by splashing/pouring. They had us fill the pool that night. We have been brushing and vacuuming it almost daily and it looks streaky. The only chemicals put in had been chlorine tabs. Will it get better or did he do a bad job.?

My new pool was plastered on June 18 with Quartzscapes Midnight Blue. The plasterer used the same method that you described, now over 3 weeks later the pool is streaky and has trowels marks throughout. On the tanning ledge, there is severe greying and marbling which is spreading down onto the steps. My finish is getting worse day by day. Please reply as to what has been done to remedy your issues.
