Brookhaven

Anyone have? Likes/dislikes? We're thinking antique white painted, no glaze, and possibly a cherry-stained island, otherwise all off white.

I have white Brookhaven in Nordic White with the Edgemont door--they're great and have been installed for two years. No problems at all!

There's been lots of discussions in the past about the pros/cons of Brookhaven and other cabinet lines. I searched for "Brookhaven" in the box at the bottom of the screen and added a link to that for you.

    Good luck!!

I have had my Brookhaven cabinets for 2 months & am very happy with them. My perimeters are eggshell in Edgemont recessed & island is cherry (cognac stain) in Edgemont raised doorstyle. I also considered cabinets by Dynasty, Medallion, Ultracraft & custom. The Brookhaven cabinets were close to the lowest price & I really think the painted finish & quality were better than all the others. Out of all the items I bought for my house remodel, I think this is the one choice I am happiest with.

Oh, annekendo makes a good point. The biggest reason I picked Brookhaven (over several other mid-range, semi-custom brands I was looking at) was because I liked their painted finish better. Had I wanted a stained or natural wood cabinet, I felt like there were many other good options. Most of the mid-range cabinet makers only had super 80's thermofoil white or a very yellowy, buttermilk color--neither of which was the look I was going for. Brookhaven had at least 6, maybe a dozen (?) whites to choose from. That impressed me. And also, your WHOLE kitchen goes through the finishing process together--so there's no slight variation on white.

I also could have chosen another brand and had them painted on-site. But I think the factory finish should hold up better long term (although I DROOL over all the kitchens painted on site...I actually WANTED brush strokes in my cabinets!!).

    Thanks!

We are looking at Brookhaven, kind of by default, because the kitchen place we are using sells woodmode/brookhaven exclusively. They have a great reputation in the area, so I think that speaks to the quality of the cabinets. My father also recently sold my grandmother's old house, which had wood mode (I'm told woodmode and brookhaven are basically the same, woodmode offering more deluxe finishes ???) and even though the kitchen was 40 years old, people commented on what great shape the cabinets were in.

We're looking for an antique white color, something that throws a little grey or even putty undertones. Any suggestions as to which Brookhaven color?

We recently closed on our newly constructed home. The builder's kitchen contractor exclusively used Brookhaven/Woodmode. To be honest, I had not heard of the company up until that point, and then did my research. We are very pleased with our kitchen, and cabinets. In particular, we really are impressed with the glazing on the cabinets. Very consistent- a beautiful stain and finish. This picture is of the stove, but you can see the cabinetry above and next to it-particularly the detail with the glazing. Good luck!
