We've had one before as well. Our pool is bigger but, all I did was add some bags of pool shock ....we are all still here....

Thanks for the response, I usually add only half a bag of shock, but this time used the whole thing! Animal control called back as well, and they were reassuring that it shouldn't make anyone sick, so it's all good. Kids just felt sorry for the poor little thing....

So far we have had, over the last year, 3 mice, 1 bird, and 2 or 3 suicidal frogs every night. I now make sure to go out first thing in the morning before the kids get up and check out the pool. It has saved my 3 girls from feeling sad and conducting daily funeral services.

This morning I was checking out the skimmers and I found a ball of fur. After a second I realized that it was a rabbit and that he was alive! I pulled him out and after laying in the grass for about an hour, he just hopped away.

Everyone with a pool should have at least one Frog Log (www.froglog.com) or at least one Frog Saver Lilly Pad (www.petacatalog.org). Both products are escape routes for small animals (not just frogs), allowing them to climb to safety instead of drowning in our pools.

Hmm, a bat like that could take out a lot of mosquitoes...
