The current trend of hanging panels just below the ceiling does make the ceiling appear higher than it is, and is especially attractive in lower ceiling heights such as your own. Drapery panels should fall all the way to the floor, however, for the most attractive effect. You should probably use a 96â panel for the best effect.

Thanks nanny2, sounds like it may be worthwhile. I'm okay with the drapes going virtually to the floor, I'm not crazy about puddling though. Perhaps they could "kiss" the floor.

I agree with Nanny2a. I would add that IMO it is most important to get the bottom of the drapes in the right place, which is 1/2 inch above the floor.

You have some leeway on where they start at the top, but they have to come down almost to the floor.

I would do a ceiling mounted drapery on a ripple fold track in your MBR, based upon the other room elements.

Those are lovely Pal, very close to what I imagined. I had hoped that I might get lucky and find something ready made that could work. I've brought home several panels, only to set them aside. DH likes the one pictured below (it is just pinned up, ignore the height). It blocks the light more than I would like, and it is darker than I imagined.

We want the view (our neighbours' wall) blocked, but the windows are south facing and provide a fair amount of light. I don't want to entirely block the light out. I was thinking a pale gray semi-sheer, but DH hasn't liked the ones I've brought home. I assume white would be too stark? What to people think of using a pattern? I'm not too sure.

The mirror is in above the vanity, and the closet doors and handles are in, see below. The new bed should be here in a couple of weeks. Slowly but surely!
