Rubaroc anyone?

Hi everyone, We are trying to get some independent feedback on Ruburoc material for use on pool decks. Our concrete pool deck is old and cracked in the corners, and this product seems to be a good answer to typical problems around pool decks. It is supposed to be slip resistant, soft on the feet, and last forever. Has anyone used this with success?

Never heard of it and when I Googled it, I got nothing. You have a website addy for this? We are going to need to do something like this for our deck late this year or early next year.

Yes, I meant to add the websites, there are 2:

    http://www.themeakingsgroup.com/rubaroc.php

    and

    http://www.rubarocsafetysurface.com/home.htm

    Any feedback would be appreciated!!

    Thanks...

    Any advice from anyone?

How thick is this material...it appears that its going to leave a lip where it meets the pool or other concrete/deck levels...wouldn't it? Or are they able to taper it away.

I'm not sure I believe this stuff could be this tough. I have seen this stuff around playgrounds and you can cut it with a knife. Maybe a two foot radius around the pool but I'm not convinced this stuff will last.

Is there a reason why you don't want to go with a deckcote type surface. It seems more durable with similar advantages and its not quite as thick.

I doubt many have used this around their pool but I'm reading with interest.

The thickness can range from a 1/4 inch to much more. Most pool applications are between 1/4 and 3/4 inch. It can be tapered down, but our pool guy is going to also be replacing the liner and the coping, so that will not be an issue. I've seen 1 pool with this, but the owner has had it since last summer. It looks really good, and the feel is more comforting than the deckcote. If we get the courage, we will go with this in September, and I'll update this thread to let you know how it goes.

Have done 2 pool decks in this product. The initial product was fine but when we needed help with a repair, they certainly have one of the worst customer service departments that I have ever worked with. I have left several messages and even talked to Barry (Owner) at one point who promised to get me help and then never returned a call after that. Absolutely would never recommend your product to anyone.

Save your money its a terrible product if installed poorly by Rubaroc this company did a terrible job on my garage and all the rubber is separating and half the garage has a yellow colour as it was poorly installed about 4 years ago and they tell you they guarantee the product for 10 years. Alain Meakings came out to my house and saw the garage and told me it was a poor installation and told me back in 2024 it would be replaced in the Spring of 2024 then said it would be replace Spring 2025.....now I have called and emailed him and the company several times and no one gets back to you TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND GIVEN HOW EXPENSIVE IT IS I WOULD SUGGEST YOU CONSIDERED ANOTHER PRODUCT OR COMPANY

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! While the product is really good all the coimments above are truly justified. From reneging on contracts, to no customer service it just isn't worth it. A shame as I said as the product is quite good. I called today to get clarification on cleaning and sealing and getting no response. If anyone knows a similar product that is available in Canada please share!
