I'm choosing floor stain for my Oakland Victorian. I'm keeping the original douglas fir in the front half of the house and have installed reclaimed douglas fir over damaged flooring in the back half of the house. The two woods are quite different in color - the reclaimed stuff was covered in glue so once it was sanded it had an almost new blonde color. The original stuff is a pretty brown/red color that I'm hoping to match - I'd like the two halves to be close in color. I'm thinking of using natural/clear the front half (original floors) and English Chestnut on the back half (reclaimed floors, more blonde.) Ideas? Advice? Photos of your English Chestnut Doug Fir floors? I'd love to hear your feedback. Thanks.

PS. Doing this while on crutches, hence the cast in the photo!
