Adding Florida covered lanai before pool build?

Hey all,

Newbie poster, been reading this forum for awhile now as we've wanted a pool on our house since we moved in 4-5 years ago. Anyway, I've had the chance to read through all your informative posts and see the awesome pools that y'all have had built on your home. Thanks.

I don't know whether or not to post this here or in the remodeling forum, but I'm looking for some advise. We currently have a 10 x 18 covered porch off the back of our house (it is all concrete block stucco), which can be seen at the bottom of the message.

It is too small for my tastes and if I'm going to have a pool, I'd rather have a rear porch that covers more of the backside of the house to have room for tables, a grill, etc.

Anyway, I have been Googling for quite some time trying to find out info on costing for this type of job and can't seem to find anything. Has anybody ever added a covered rear porch as part of a pool addition project? Not implying that I want the pool builder to build it, I'm saying has anybody gone through the process of putting a covered lanai onto their house in preparation for adding a pool?

Any info is appreciated, thanks!
