replace pool pumps??

Hi - newb here..
I moved into my house outside of Charlotte, NC 3 years ago. Pool is a little over 13 years old. Nice little 12k gallon kidney pool. just replaced the liner. i have a regular 1HP single speed motor and a booster motor for the polaris 280 (which isn't working very well either).

Both pumps are leaking. i fixed a few around the connections but both are leaking from within. both the pump and the seals around the basket. and the booster is leaking right in the middle.

pool guy said i could spend a hundred or two on repairs, re-seals, redoing some of the pvc, but recommends i get new pumps since these are pushing 15 years with some issues.

i've been reading the forums here and it looks like a 2-speed may be the best value. I'd love if that could push the polaris, but that doesn't seem to be the case as it needs the booster. that's too bad..

which 2-speed and booster are the best value out there? cash flow is an issue, so can't break the bank here.

thx,
jb
