Just curious, how come you went with a DE Filter instead of Cartridge?

I would have preferred cartridge however city code requires us to put in a backwash line and p-trap regardless of filter type so we went with the DE. Plus I know that DE will clean the water a little better but we didnt care. We are brand new to this so we would have had to learn anything from the start. I dont think DE or cartridge on this size pool would have made a difference either way. We ask the builder and thats what he decided on and thought it was better so we went with it

Only reason I'm asking is that backwashing wastes alot of water... Did you go with Salt Water or which sanitation method ?
