What a great pattern for a little boy! I've never seen that before.

I got the pattern from one of my quilt magazines. I love bright colors and so my quilts are usually colorful.
This was also one I quilted on my Handi Quilter frame.

That is just so cute! I would never attempt that one because DH would be staying awake forever!! He is petrified of snakes.

Have to say that I passed this thread up a few times because of hte word "snake". But I braved it & saw the CUTE quilt. I'm not terrified of ziggyzag snakes with big buggy eyes. They almost look scared! :) Great job on the quilt.

I do not post here but I heard about this quilt and my husband and daughter loves snakes.I had to come over from [kitchen table] and see this beautiful quilt.If you ever decide to place it on ebay or sell it please post it.(the notice you are selling the quilt).I would love to purchase that.

Your quilt is darling! But like lynch-quilts we don't care much for snakes and my DH especially doesn't like them.
My favorite part of your post is the darling red head in the corner of the pic. We are partical to red heads as 2 of our GC are red heads.

New2quilting, yes the snake heads are floppy. Since this was not a little one i used buttons for the eyes.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this quilt. I have been searching forever for an idea for a quilt to make my daughter. She loves snakes with a passion. Even my boys love it.

I have made this quilt also. Its super cute. In fact I have given it to my church to use as a raffle prize. I was looking for the book so I could write out the little story behind it, how the grandmother made the pockets in the heads so she could leave notes for her grandkids and how one snake is facing the other direction because she had one granddaughter who always did her own thing....., but i cant find the book. Can you help? I really wanted to attach the story, one of the reasons I loved the quilt was because of that, so I can do so?

Sorry I cannot help. I don't know where the pattern was.

My sister has a book with this pattern in it. I don't know if the story is in that book but I will check with her and post a reply on this forum. May take a week or a bit more as she is visiting with her granddaughter.

I talked to my sister and she says that there is a few lines about how one snake is going in a different direction because the child followed his own heart. There was nothing about the grandma putting notes in the snake head pockets. Sorry it wasn't what you wanted.
