Updated Kitchen with just Staging

I thought I would share the before and after of a little house that my friend and I staged. The kitchen was pretty blah and with a few changes I think it looks remarkably better.

Amazing what you can do with little money!

Great job! That's a big difference!

Love the new light fixture! You show the difference between uncluttered and unimaginative.

A pic of the sink counter would be nice!

Thank you all! Very kind words.

We have a tiny budget but are still considering a window treatment of some sort. This house is under 100,000 so do not want to go overboard on the decor. We just want to give it a warm feel.

As always, suggestions are more than welcome!

    Wow! Well done!

Really nice! And that is kind of amazing how different it feels in there now. I'd find some kind of fabric valance that was longer on the sides... what do they call that?... and put it up by the ceiling so it covered the top of the window casing.

    Pretty!

    Excellent job.

I'd recommend NOT putting up a valance. The home doesn't appear to have any significant architectural details. Our RE agent, who did an extraordinary job on MIL's home, took down every single window treatment, even the ones that looked out onto neighboring houses or yards.

He said lots of light, as much as possible, was far more important than unnecessary flourishes. A lot of people don't like curtains/valances (I'm one of them; hate the things), but everybody responds positively to light-filled interiors when viewing a house for sale.

Made a lot of sense to us, and it certainly did work in our favor. Two nearby similar homes, same price range, neither staged and left with window treatments still up, might have looked "homey" but neither sold for well over six months on the market. MIL sold in less than 5 weeks.

    That looks so much better!

It looks so, so nice! I have always loved lamps on the counter - there was a Better Homes and Gardens kitchen that had that, and I have loved it since.

Thanks so much everyone! It goes to show you can do a lot with very little.
