What is the point of this site if no one answers the questions abt colors etc??

When it comes to color, best to print the picture and compare it to several paint chips and choose what works best for your room. Even if you have the exact same paint as what's used in this picture, your surfaces will look different than what you see in the photo unless you have the exact same size room, same lighting and wattage, same carpet and fabric colors, same window shades, and the room's orientation to the sun and time of day are all the same. I have a sample ceramic tile in my hand that's called "Dove" and it's a lovely shade of taupe. On the manufacturer's own website, it looks completely grey.

I don't know what the problem is either. I'm an artist, and all I can say is some people just don't share. Many artists won't tell the colors they use, or the formulas when people ask them. I even had a hairdresser that refused to give me my "formula" when I was going out of town and needed to get my hair done by someone else. Needless to say, I got a new hairdresser.

That's funny! I am a hairdresser and always give the client their color info, and I still want this paint color info!

Tip: I'm an artist and I do color consults on houses, so I know how difficult it is to get the right color. And what they say on here is true....it can be completely different in one environment from another, due to natural light from windows, lamp lighting, reflections from trees outside, other furniture, etc. One good tip to save you from a disaster: Before deciding on a color get 4 samples of paint at a time in small sizes. BM makes 1/2 pint sizes, and if you have a good store in your area, they will carry the 12" square samples on paper. Pick a blank wall space in the room you're painting. Roll a giant square of white primer on the wall first, like a 3 to 5 foot square. Remove all furniture away from wall. Let it dry and paint 4 big squares of your samples in the middle of your primer square. Make your sample color squares at least 12" .........but keep them a foot away from eachother. Paint 2 coats and let dry. You will see that the color you see will change depending very much on the colors which are next to it. This is why it is essential to paint on the white primer.............NOT on your wall color. For ceilings, paint a large square sample board of your color first........ and then hold it up above your head to see the color. It will be much darker on a horizontal plane above you. Whatever the floor is will also be reflecting up on the color........ Most houses are poorly lit, unless a designer or artist with color and lighting experience has decorated the house. I have found Builders know nothing about lighting. That's why all the can lights are in the middle of the ceiling and nothing is grazing the walls..........where the color is ! Everything always looks so good in the magazines and on this website.........and paint is no different - the right lighting makes it.

Just list the colours and let people decide in their own lighting if they like it. The point of this website is to advertise designs/builders/ architects. You get your advertising now, in turn list the information people would like in regards to your designs that you posted!

Well, this website would have no designers or architects, or anyone else in the service business for that matter if the whole point of the website was to just give everyone information so they can DIY it all.............come on. Why would they bother? Advertising is only working for people in business if someone BUYS something....

Sorry you had to get so defensive. It is the same premise as when you go into a grocery store where they are giving out samples. Some will end up buying the product because they saw it there and others will take advantage of the free product. Either way they get exposure to the public and like many of the other pictures on this website, and the designers etc , who aren't so threatened to give out their info on what they used, they probably end up getting future customers because of their willingness to be forthcoming with their knowledge! It's paint colours for crying out loud !!!!!!!!
Really! Just post the color and let us be responsible for our lighting etc!!!
