I made one with a swap from another forum and loved it . I get to use up lots of scraps that way .

Isn't it a whole lot faster than cutting a lot of perfect pieces? You can also sew lots of small pieces together to form multi-colored strings. So many possibilities and so little time. Isn't life wonderful?

I am hooked also. I used a lot of bright scraps and surrounded the blocks with black. I will post when my DD helps me figure out the whole system. I could make dozens!! Deanna

I have made a string quilt using muslin as the foundation is that what you are using???

I love deannabsd's idea of using black as a picture frame. I love to make quilts for Linus and have tons of 2 1/2" scraps. They make large strings, but fun and they're already cut.

I used the muslin as a foundation and really liked working with it. Mine were all brights so the black really sets them off. It is a wedding gift for my nephew and I miscalculated and it was very narrow and long, so I added more to the width but it still has a funny proportion but guess what they'll get it anyone. A young couple building a brand new house and buying everything new. I am jealous so hopefully they have a place for it. Db
