I have a Whithaus fauctet. Don't have any spray though. Our water is hard and the spay always gets clogged. We never used our old side spray. I like my faucet, ordered it in pewter on-line. The only disappointment was that when the faucet arrived literally as the counter top fabricators were packing up to leave, I opened the package to find that it was lacquered! I had them drill the marble and installed the faucet. We had been way too long without water in the kitchen. I figured that either I'll get used to the lacquered finish or it will dull from the hard water or I will find a way to 'help it along'. I am pleased with the faucet though. It's kind of high-but I purchased a funky bridge faucet.

Thanks Mossfern -- I was looking at one of their bridge faucets -- it didn't seem as high as some others, which is what I need. Which one did you get?

We have this one in pewter. I really am happy with it and my grown kids think its very cool. Even though they don't live here any more ( a couple come for long visits) they are very much attached to the house and the memories of the old kitchen. I have promised to keep a few things to soften the trauma for them.

Just when I thought things were fine in this part of house, i.e., post-kitchen remodel, I must find a faucet to replace the beauriful Antique Copper Madison IV from Blanco we used for less than 5 years before the H2O flow dropped big time. Trust me, I've paid plumber and spoken to Blanco reps; it's cooked. Blanco has been great about the problem, but I still had to pay plumber to diagnose and need to find and buy a replacement. Also will spend at least $200 more to have new one installed.

We must use Antique Copper to match "jewelry," i.e., knobs and pulls. We are considering Whitehaus' Evolution or Vintage III, and we've also looked at Sigma's "350" models by AMERICAN FAUCET & COATINGS, Inc. Although none have beauty of Blanco's discontinued Madison IV, I'm thinking 1 of these may be as good as it gets. My plumber doesn't know Whitehaus, but he says Germans make good products. A saleperson said Whitehaus customer service is not so hot. With Sigma, it looks nice, but they provide a very limited warranty, and I am concerned about "metal" sprayer faucet, as opposed to brass.

ISSUES: Does it matter that sprayer is not brass? Blanco's heavy brass sprayer is very nice.

As a general matter, I am wondering if I am risking the same trouble recurring down the road if I get another faucet, whether Whitehaus, Sigma, or other, that has a 90 degree angle in the faucet, that maybe the curved Evolution style would better avoid apparent debris build up that could have caused irreperable problems in Madison IV. (Spray presure still works fine.)

Any other ideas for a 4-hole widespread configuration? Any mid- to high-end manufactures I've missed? No "bridge" styles, please; that looks like it would require more cleaning and I avoid that!

I think we've looked at ALL manufacturers for approporiate styles, color, and quality. I won't buy Delta's Chinese-made Danze or Phister, and none of the better U.S. lines carry Antique Copper.

One last thing, if anyone needs to buy a sink, the only big mistake we made with remodel was buying Blanco Silgranit double sink in Bisquit rather than Black with large main section and a smaller section at side. It shows every little spot of dirt, is hard to keep clean, and the shape makes cleaning large pots and pans a pain.

Did you look at Hamat faucets? I know they make some in antique copper but I don't know about the style you want.

I do have a Whithaus and like it very much, but it is a pull down in chrome -- very different from what it sounds like you are looking for. I bought mine online based onthe website pjot and one or two posted by others who had them here. I was surprised at the heft of it when it arrived, I don't know if I can help you other than to say they are really nice faucets.

i ordered this Whitehaus in chrome for my modern bungalow kitchen....haven't installed it yet - but it seemed to fit everything i was looking for. i didn't want a huge faucent - had looked at a Kohler, but it was so thick and in your face.

also, originally wanted 2 handles/bridge style - but someone gave me some good advice about how many times you have stuff in your hands or are trying to turn the faucet on with vegetables in your hands, etc.....and that the 1 handle is so much easier than 2. i had never really thought about it - but definitely changed my mind.

We're building a house and this week is fixtures. So I can understand your faucet hell. We like the traditional look of the Kohler Vinnata, but understand Kohler can start leaking and not one of the finer companies. So, the best we can match is the Danze D454557 "Opulence" (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000ENB12Y/ref=noref?ie=UTF8&s=hi&psc=1). The other is Whitehaus WHUS591L1 (http://www.amazon.com/Whitehaus-WHUS591L1-Metrohaus-Gooseneck-Traditional/dp/B0044UKEAI).

I'm wondering if the Whitehaus pull down is decent at retracting back into place. Also, since we'll have quite a deep sink, wondering about splash.

I have the Whithaus Metrohaus that i similar to the Vinata. I got it because the specs were better for me. I think it's wonderful -- a hefty piece of jewelry. DH sometimes has issues with the pull down, but I only do after he's been washing dishes. I can't figure out what he does. It's a gorgeous hunk or faucet though.

We ended up buying Whiterhaus' Vintage III to replace Blanco's beauriful but defective Antique Copper Madison IV.

Three points: (1) I am happy to report Blanco stood behind its promise and made very good on a nearly expired 5-year warranty. We did not get covered for high plumbing costs, but Blanco sent us a check for about $130 MORE than we paid for the product. (Priceless good will, in my opinion.) That nearly covered cost of Whitehaus replacement from on-line seller. (2) The Whitehaus product, one of few traditional models made in Antique Copper w/ real brass, seems well made, and the quality of all parts, except PLASTIC spray push handle, compares to Blanco's when we purchased in 2006. (3) The design of Whitehaus is similar but not as attractive as Blanco's; it's as though the faucet handles and spigot pigged out on Kiblasa. OTOH, maybe a thicker design will avoid trouble the sleaker Blanco had with corrosion clogging faucet and decreasing flow. I would not buy anything ID'd as "metal" (the sprays of many brands) or made in China, e.g., Danze, a line I understand is affiliated with American Standard of Delta. I wish American makers had offered the color, style, and quality we needed.

I reread my earlier post and felt it sounded more negative than it should. We both really love the faucet -- I just can't figure out why, only every once in a while, DH has a problem with getting the faucet to stay. It only happens to him and only when he's been doing a lot of dishes. And I always get it back in and working again. I meant the comment to be more about DH than the faucet. Much more. ;-)

I bought a WC2070800-C faucet about two months ago, and just recently the spray handle started to leak. i called WH and tried to get this resolved. they gave me the runaround and asked for my receipt, which i don't have. i didn't keep it, but i have the box. and i have the serial #. they insisted that without my receipt they cant do anything for me. i told them they can look it up by the serial # and determine if its under warranty or not. they said that they still need the receipt. REALLY??? i have the box, and i have the product that is less than 2 months old, and they are being jerks about it. what a wast of my money. i should have bought a MOEN. and it would have been much cheaper. never again...
