My builder uses Houzz Pro to plan the timeline and give detailed estimates and daily updates with photos of progress, and provide invoices at pre-agreed key points in the build. This made the whole experience much more efficient and stress-free.
My grandson, who will be moving from rented room to rented room needs some type of storeage for his clothing. A traditional chest of drawers will be too cumbersome to move in his small car. So back in our college days we used apple crates for temporary storeage. Was wondering what's available these days for mostly jeans and tees? Any suggestions welcome.
There are some nice closet hangers that could be used. If you roll up a pair of jeans or roll up a sweater, they can go in the cubbies. Some are made wide enough to manage folded clothing items. Plus when you are ready to go, easy to move.
Sorry I spelled storage wrong. The closet hangers are unique, they might work, I'll try to find locally to see if they are sturdy. Baskets might work as well, two or three the same size should stack OK.
I just thought about an extra set of three plastic drawers that I have, would work for smaller items like undies and socks. I think we're getting there...thanks.
How about a foot locker? Many of them have a lift out tray in the top, which gives you easy access to things in the bottom, and built in organization. They also lock, which might be a nice feature. And you can find them with two wheels on one end, and a handle on the other, so that you can pull them much like a rolling suitcase.
I think something that can "break down" into smaller pieces would be good because he could get them into his car easily. I'm thinking about those plastic shelving units you can get at the big-box home improvement stores. He could stack shirts and pants (and other things) on the shelves, and he can get some baskets (milk crates, even) to keep the unmentionables in.
No Container Store near us. However, I was going to Lowe's tonight so will look at the plastic shelves, since these are portable, they might be one unit of "furniture" for him. I love the idea of the footlocker, I see some are used for shipping, etc. he hopes to eventually to be accepted into the Navy so this might come in handy later. Thanks for all the suggestions, anything would be better than his black garbage bags...lol.
Stackable drawers are great for quick moving. They come in all price ranges and levels of quality, from plastic to particle board to fine wood.
Things look neater concealed in drawers rather than being out in the open and you can just grab the the drawers at moving time instead of emptying them out into moving containers - the contents are completely protected in the drawers.
Thanks for all the tips. I've decided, for this round, on the 3 drawer unit that I already have plus I purchased a small resin shelving unit from Lowe's.
