I'm sorry no one answered this but I'd say as long as it's room temp, presuming room temp is not very hot, then it's ready to go in the oven.
I think that's what you're asking.

I almost bought a fresh ham but knew I didn't have enough people to cook for to make it worth my while. Glad fresh hams are still being cooked. ;-)

Thanks I did find out that it should be at room temp for 1 hour. It was wonderful. Haven't had one in years.

Glad it went well. I hope I can find one later in the year in a smaller size. The store said they only get them in round the holidays since there is no demand otherwise.

Our first year here in TX, I went to the grocery store and when I didn't see any fresh hams, I asked a young gal in the meat department about one. Yes, she really did look at me and inform me that "M'am ALL of our hams are fresh!" Found an "older" lady that after we laughed together, told me they would have them in for Easter.
