Almond Joy Brownies Mix In A Jar

================================

2-1/4 cups granulated sugar

1/2 cup cocoa powder (wipe jar after this layer)

1-1/4 cups flaked coconut, sprinkled with 1 teaspoon

almond extract and tossed to blend

3/4 cup coarsely chopped whole almonds

1-1/4 cups flour mixed with 1 teaspoon baking powder

and 1 teaspoon salt

Layer ingredients in order given in a 1-quart wide-mouth canning jar.

Press each layer firmly in place before adding next ingredient.

Attach the following instructions on a gift tag:

Almond Joy Brownies

Makes 2 dozen brownies.

Empty jar of brownie mix into large mixing bowl. Use your hands to

thoroughly blend mix.

Add:

3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks) butter or margarine (not diet), melted 4 eggs,

slightly beaten

Mix until completely blended. Spread batter in a sprayed 9 x 13-inch

baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees F for 30 minutes.

Cool completely in pan, then cut into 2-inch square

Applesauce Cookies

1 cup brown sugar

2-1/4 cups all purpose flour

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

3/4 cup raisins

3/4 cup chopped nuts

Combine flour, salt, cinnamon and baking soda; stir well. Place flour

mixture in a clean mason jar. Pack down tight. Add other ingredients,

one item at a time, packing each layer down. Put the lid on the jar and

tie a ribbon around the lid. Print out the following instructions on a

gift card and tape the card to the jar: . Applesauce Cookies

Whip 3/4 cup of butter or shortening until light and fluffy. Add 1 egg

and 1/2 cup applesauce and beat until mixed. Stir in the ingredients

from this jar until well combined. Drop teaspoons of dough on a greased

cookie sheet. Bake for 8 to 12 minutes at 350F.


Blarney Stone Cookie Mix In A Jar

1 cup sugar

3/4 cup golden raisins

1-1/2 cups salted peanuts

1-3/4 cups flour mixed with 1 teaspoon baking soda and 1 teaspoon allspice

Layer ingredients in order given in a 1 quart wide mouth canning jar.

Press each layer firmly in place before adding the next ingredient.

(makes 5 cups of mix)

Attach recipe:

Empty jar into large mixing bow; use you hands to thoroughly mix. Add

1/2 sticks soft butter, 2 eggs slightly beaten and 1 1/2 t vanilla. Mix

until completely blended - you will need to finish mixing with your

hands. Shape into balls the size of walnuts. Place 2" apart on sprayed

cookie sheet. Bake at 375F for 9-11 minutes, until edges are lightly

browned - cool 5 minutes on baking sheet and remove cookies to racks to

cool completely. (Makes 3 1/2 dozen)


Black & White Crispies Cookie Mix In A Jar

1-1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1/2 teaspoon salt

3/4 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon baking powder

2/3 cup semisweet chocolate chips

1/2 cup crisped rice cereal

1/2 cup packed brown sugar

2/3 cup vanilla or white chocolate chips

1/2 cup quick-cooking oatmeal

1/2 cup granulated sugar

Stir together flour, salt, baking soda and baking powder. Pour into

wide-mouth, 1-quart jar. Tap on counter, then press firmly into place.

Add layers of semisweet chocolate chips, rice cereal, brown sugar,

vanilla chips, oatmeal and granulated sugar, pressing each layer into

place. Close jar tightly.

Attach the following instructions to the jar on a gift tag:

Brown and White Crispies Cookies

Contents of jar 1/2 cup butter, softened 1 egg, slightly beaten 2

tablespoons water

To bake cookies: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Pour ingredients from

jar into a bowl; stir to combine.

In another bowl, beat butter until fluffy. Add egg and water; beat to

combine (mixture will look curdled). Add dry ingredients; beat at

lowest speed with electric mixer or with wooden spoon until well

combined.

Form dough into 1-inch balls. Place 2 inches apart on cookie sheets.

Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until lightly browned. Let cool 5 minutes on

baking sheet, then remove to wire rack.

Makes 3 dozen cookies, each 105 calories; 5 grams fat, 3 grams

saturated fat, 14 milligrams cholesterol, 1 gram protein, 15 grams

carbohydrates, 10 grams sugar, 0.5 grams fiber, 72 milligrams sodium,

Chewy Coconut Almond Bars Mix In A Jar

1 cup shredded coconut

1/2 cup sliced almonds, toasted and cooled completely

1/2 cup packed dark brown sugar

1 cup buttermilk biscuit and baking mix

1/2 cup packed light brown sugar

Chocolate Lover's Cookies In A Jar

1/3 cup milk chocolate chips

1/3 cup white chocolate or vanilla milk chips

1/3 cup semisweet chocolate chips

1/2 cup packed dark brown sugar

1 cup buttermilk biscuit and baking mix

1/2 cup packed light brown sugar

1 cup buttermilk biscuit and baking mix

In 1-quart wide-mouth glass jar, gently layer and pack ingredients in

the order listed (yes, there are two layers of biscuit and baking mix).

If there is any space left after adding the last ingredient, add more

baking chips or nuts to fill the jar. Place lid on top.

Cocoa Peanut Butter Cookies Mix In A Jar

1-1/2 cups packed confectioners' sugar

3/4 cup cocoa

1-1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/4 teaspoon salt

In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder and salt.

Layer ingredients in order given in a 1-quart wide mouth canning jar.

Clean the inside of the jar with a dry paper towel after adding the

confectioners' sugar and after adding the cocoa powder. Be sure to pack

everything down firmly before adding the flour mixture; it will be a

tight fit.

Attach these instructions to the jar:

Cocoa Peanut Butter Cookies

Empty jar of cookie mix into large mixing bowl. Use your hands to

thoroughly blend mix. Add 1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened at room

temperature. DO NOT USE DIET MARGARINE. Add 1/2 cup creamy peanut

butter, 1 egg, slightly beaten, and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. Mix

until completely blended. You will need to use your hands to finish

mixing. Shape into walnut-size balls and place 2 inches apart on a

parchment lined baking sheets. DO NOT USE WAX PAPER. Press balls down

with a fork. Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 9 to 11 minutes

until edges are browned. Cool 5 minutes on baking sheet then transfer

to a cooling rack to finish cooling.

Makes 3 dozen cookies.

Cranberry Hootycreeks Mix In A Jar

A beautifully festive cookie in a jar recipe.

1 cup plus 2 tablespoon all-purpose flour

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup rolled oats

1/3 cup packed brown sugar

1/3 cup white sugar

1/2 cup dried cranberries

1/2 cup white chocolate chips

1/2 cup chopped pecans

Combine the flour, soda and salt together. Layer the ingredients in a 1

quart jar in the order listed.

Attach a tag with these instructions:

Cranberry Hootycreeks

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a cookie sheet or line with

parchment paper

In a medium bowl, beat together 1/2 cup softened butter, 1 egg and 1

teaspoon vanilla extract until fluffy. Add the entire jar of

ingredients, and mix together until well blended. Drop by heaping

spoonsful onto the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes, or

until edges start to brown. Cool on baking sheets, or remove to cool on

wire racks.

Makes 18 cookies.

Dreamsicle Cookie Mix In A Jar

1/2 cup powdered orange flavored drink

mix, such as Tang

3/4 cup granulated sugar

1-1/2 cups vanilla baking chips

1-3/4 cups all-purpose flour

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

Combine the flour with the baking soda and baking powder. Starting with

the Tang, then sugar, vanilla chips and ending with the flour mixture.

Layer the ingredients in a clean glass wide mouth quart-size jar. Press

each layer firmly in place before adding the next ingredient.

Attach a recipe card with the following instructions to the jar:

Dreamsicle Cookies

Yields 2 1/2 dozen

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.

Empty contents into a large mixing bowl. Add 1/2 cup softened butter, 1

egg, slightly beaten, and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. Mix until

completely blended. Roll heaping tablespoonsful into balls. Place 2

inches apart on a lightly greased baking sheet. Bake for 12 to 14

minutes or until tops are very lightly browned.

Cool for 5 minutes on the sheet then remove cookies to wire racks to

cool completely.

Gingerbread Cookie Mix In A Jar

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 cup packed brown sugar

1-1/2 cups all-purpose flour

2 teaspoons ground ginger

1 teaspoon ground clove

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1 teaspoon ground allspice

Mix 2 cups of the flour with the baking soda and baking powder. Mix the

remaining 1 1/2 cups flour with the spices. In a one-quart, wide-mouth

canning jar layer the ingredients starting with the flour baking powder

mixture, then the brown sugar, and finally the flour and spice mixture.

Attach a card to the jar with the following instructions:

Gingerbread Cookies

Empty contents of jar into a large mixing bowl. Blend together well.

Add 1/2 cup softened butter or margarine, 3/4 cup molasses and 1

slightly beaten egg. Mix until completely blended. Dough will be very

stiff so you may need to use your hands. Cover and refrigerate for 1

hour.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Roll dough to 1/4-inch thick on a lightly floured surface. Cut into

shapes with a cookie cutter. Place cookies on a lightly greased cookie

sheet about 2 inches apart. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes. Decorate as

desired.

Hawaiian Cookie Mix In A Jar

1/2 cup packed brown sugar

2/3 cup chopped dates

2 cups flour mixed with 1 teaspoon baking

soda and 1 teaspoon baking powder

place before adding next ingredient.

Attach the following recipe to the jar:

Hawaiian Cookies

Empty cookie mix into a large mixing bowl; stir to combine. Add 1/2 cup

softened butter, 1 slightly beaten egg and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract;

mix until completely blended.

Roll dough into walnut-size balls. Place 2 inches apart on a lightly

greased cookie sheet. Press cookie down slightly with the heel of your

hand. Bake at 350 degrees F for 11 to 13 minutes or until edges are

lightly browned.

Cool for 5 minutes on baking sheet. Remove to wire racks to cool

completely.

Yields 2 1/2 dozen.

Hello Dolly Bars

1/2 cup walnuts or pecans

6 ounces semisweet chocolate chips

6 ounces butterscotch chips

1 cup coconut

1-1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs

Please graham cracker crumbs in a small zip-type bag. Layer ingredients

in a quart size canning jar in the order given, placing the bag of

crumbs on top.

Attached the following instructions on a gift tag:

Hello Dolly Bars

1/2 cup butter 1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Melt butter. Stir in the bag of graham cracker crumbs. Pat evenly onto

the bottom of an ungreased 13 x 9-inch baking pan. Sprinkle remaining

layered ingredients into crumb mixture and spread evenly with spoon.

Pour sweetened condensed milk evenly over all. Bake for 30 minutes;

cool. Cut into bars.

Makes about 36 bars.


Holiday Cranberry And Pistachio Biscotti Mix In A Jar Recipe

3/4 cup dried cranberries or cherries

3/4 cup shelled green pistachios

2 cups all purpose unbleached flour

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

2 teaspoons baking powder

2/3 cup sugar

Use a clean 1 quart jar. Layer ingredients in order. Tap gently on the

counter top to settle each layer before adding the next. Add additional

dried fruits or pistachios to fill any gaps . Attach note:

Holiday Cranberry & Pistachio Biscotti

Beat 1/3 C. butter on medium speed for 30 seconds. Add 2 eggs and beat

on medium until well combined. Using a wooden spoon, stir in contents

of jar just until combined.

Divide into 2 loaves on cookie sheet, chilling if necessary to make

dough easier to handle. Each loaf should be about 9 inches long and 2

inches wide.

Bake at 375° F. for 25 - 30 min or until a toothpick inserted in the

center comes out clean. Cool on sheet for 1 hour.

Cut each loaf diagonally into 1/2 inch thick slices using a serrated

(bread) knife. Place slices on an ungreased cookie sheet.

Bake at 325°F for 8 minutes, then turn over and bake for 8 - 10 minutes

more or until dry and crisp. Transfer to wire rack to cool.

Makes 32 cookies.

Hootie Cootie Fruitie Bars In A Jar

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

1/8 teaspoon cinnamon

pinch of salt

3/4 cup old-fashioned rolled oats

1/3 cup firmly packed light brown sugar

1/4 cup 1/2-inch pieces dried pineapple

1/4 cup 1/2-inch pieces dried apricot

2 tablespoons sliced almonds

Combine flour, cinnamon and salt. Place into pint jar. Layer remaining

ingredients into jar in order listed, firmly packing brown sugar and

dried fruit.

Attach the following instructions on a gift tag:

Hootie Cootie Fruitie Bars

Contents of gift jar 6 tablespoons butter, melted 3/4 teaspoon almond

extract

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line an 8 1/2 x 4 1/2-inch loaf pan with

foil and lightly grease.

Remove dried fruit and almonds from jar, placing in a small bowl; set

aside.

Empty remaining ingredients of jar into a large bowl, stirring to

remove any lumps. Add dried fruit, almonds, melted butter and almond

extract. Stir until well blended. The dough will be moist and crumbly.

Place dough into prepared loaf pan. Press dough into pan. Bake until

top is golden brown 35 to 40 minutes. Let cool.

Lift foil and bars from pan. Remove foil. Cut into 1 3/4 x 2-inch bars.

Makes about 8 bars.
