LOOKING for: Figs & Cheese

OK, I need your help! In Italy a few years ago, I had an AMAZING dessert which was basically stracchino cheese with some glazed or carmelized (what's the difference?) roasted figs. I am dying to replicate this dish at home. I cannot find Stracchino in the Detroit area, and was told that Taleggio is very similar, so I bought a pound, along with a 140oz jar of glazed roasted figs. Anyone out there have a clue about this, or any suggestions? I can cook but am not very intuitive/inventive about it. Thanks in advance!!!
