Could it have been as simple as browned, crumbled sausage, drain fat off, while still in frypan add a block of cream cheese and stir over low heat until melted and mixed with the sausage. Maybe a little marjoram herb sprinkled in? What about mushrooms in it?

This is how I make my mushroom turnovers and my Sausage Nuggets with crescent roll dough. Does this sound like it at all?
