Free sewing tool

Hi there internet friends. I'm so in and out lately, since we've moved from Korea to the USA. I've been working. I developed this free sewing tool for more seam guides called Seamingly Accurate. I'm looking into having it produced, but for now, its a free download. It makes half square triangles SO much faster and helps us line up the 45 degree triangles and binding ends with the exact overlap. Check it out if you like- afterall, its free.

Here is a link that might be useful: Seamingly Accurate

Nice of you to inform us but promoting products here is a no-no. I'll just pretend I didn't notice that.

    HI Jenbone
Thanks for sharing your idea/design with us. I have printed off your instructions and downloaded it to my computer. Will try it out tomorrow.
Free ideas always appreciated by me, anyway. I get free ideas and patterns from the internet all the time, many links from this site.
Glad to have you back in the states again. Will let you know how the design works for me. Always looking for something to make HST easier... Thanks again

I checked the forum rules and it says "no advertising" but since I'm not selling this free download, I think its ok. I totally understand if the forum admin needs to pull the thread though. Anyway, if you try it, I hope you like it. ~jen~

    If its free,,,whats the problem??

Jen, Just wanted to let you know that I have been using your free tool for a few days and I like it. It has made making those HST a bit easier. I wish it could be made in in something other then paper but it works. Jayne

I fit the paper tool to my machine bed and made the cuts as instructed, then using some CLEAR Contact Paper I had - laminated my paper template on the printed side, left an edge of contact paper to adhere the whole thing to sewing machine except directly over the throat plate area - Now it works great and the material slides right across the area with no problem. Found that the markings are precise with my rulers - and helps improve the making of the HST and keeping my other seams straighter.

    Thanks so much for sharing...

I was going to suggest taking your paper template to an office supply store or copier store (like Kinko's) and having them laminate it. That would be even stronger than Contact Paper, but you wouldn't have the advantage of being able to stick it down to the machine bed. I hadn't thought of Contact Paper! Very clever! Thanks for sharing that idea.

Thanks for the suggestion. I am going to make another template and buy some contact paper. Sound like it would make it easier to sew. Jayne
