Red Sofa? Pics Please!

I am leaning towards a red sofa in my living room, but unable to pull the trigger. I like the Pottery Barn Comfort in Sierra Red Brushed Canvas.

I'd love to see photos of your red sofas. Do you love or hate your red sofa? Would you pick a different color if you had to do it again?

(I found a link to a discussion in the archives on red sofas but it is now gone.)

We've had a red sectional for the last 5-6 years. I still love it. But you have to really like red. I've always had red shoes, red purse, red clothes. So I guess I am a red person. I don't have time to link a photo right now but I am sure you will get many.

My sofa was expensive and will be around a very long time which is fine with me.

We have a red sofa in our upstairs family room. Very comfy slip cover look.

As you can see, I love red! :)

Neither of these a a particularly great shot of the sofa but it is red. For me, red in the living room has been a nice choice.

DLM, can you tell me about your beautiful LR rug? It looks stunning with your red sofa!

We have Urban Loft sofas and club chair in Cinnabar (Haverty's), mission style darker oak tables and book cases with Behr Manilla Tint walls and Sienna Cherry floors and it is beautiful. Oh, and the wall to wall windows at each end of the 18x36 LR are covered in sheers from JC Penney that are burgundy, gold and olive striped.

The Cinnabar color looks red, brick, rust, burgundy depending on sunlight and the walls change from light to dark yellow to light to dark gold.

    Sorry I don't have pics.

Mine isn't solid but it's still a red color.

I really like the look. So much that I actually stored the bazillion matching pillows that came with it (I have a matching couch and loveseat in this fabric) so someday when I replace the furniture (assuming I don't buy red again) I can use the pillows.

*Nope, the furkids aren't to be up there. :)

Dlm - Is that a black tray on top of your table? It looks really neat.

My sofa is the same as Shee's but the sofas are a much deeper and rich maroon than in the picture, right Shee?

Shee, I have the zillion pillows in another room just taking up space! lol I need to find some pillow covers for them because they're very comfy to lay on.

Mocharoman, what color red are you wanting?

shee and oak- side note- why not use a seam ripper and remove the stuffing from the pillows to store the covers. Unless they are down filled- inserts are inexpensive. That way you aren't taking up precious storage space.

answered earlier but it didn't post for some reason.

sippimom that rug came from Home Goods several years ago. I don't remember any specifics about it but will lift up the edges later and see if maybe there's some info for you.

shee do you mean the tray with the candles? That one is silver, not black. Or do you mean the one in the top photo lower left corner with the lamp on it? That's the actual table top - looks like a round gallery tray.

I would but the stuffing inside the pillows is the most comfy I've ever used! lol At night when I'm tired..or even in the daytime, I lay on the sofa and use whatever pillow is there while watching TV or taking a cat nap.

When I get time I'm going to buy pillow covers for them. They come in two sizes.

In the winter I like to use the pillows. Right now I have them stacked in the guest bedroom because the material is too "warm" for summer.

sippimom I did find some information for you. The manufacturer is Momeni but I can't find the design - discontinued, no doubt. The info on the back reads Made in China, Ivory, SP-OP which I take to be part of their Spencer Collection. Their description reads "Spencer is a casual collection of hand-hooked rugs featuring soft floral, country, and contemporary designs. Made in China of 100% wool." Mine is a hooked rug so that fits but none of the current designs are even close.

Yep, Oakley's right. I think the furniture looks nicer/deeper IRL than these photos.

Cooper - That's an idea. I don't really know how to sew and I don't want to botch them too bad. Inserts would be nicer. Luckily we have a large attic so that's where they're at.

Dlm - Ah, I see both of them now. I was referring to the one with the lamp. That's a neat table.

sippimom-dlm's carpet is very reminiscent of a royal kashan oriental pattern which most dealers should carry. not a hard pattern to find.

    Just kidding!

OK, that's my sofa after its red paint job. Since then, I've moved, but the color works just well against its new background of wasabi green walls, a coral/brown 194Os carpet, and --if I can ever find the right fabric--egg yolk yellow curtains.
