Texturing after wallpaper removal

I'm removing wallpaper in my kitchen. The previous owner put wallpaper over the backing of the original wallpaper. Apparently he couldn't get the original wallpaper backing off as the builder didn't prime or size the drywall before putting up the original wallpaper. (Imagine that!) I'm getting the 2nd layer of wallpaper and backing off, but the original backing is near impossible to remove. I'm wondering if I must get the original layer of wallpaper backing off the walls as I'm planning to hire someone to come in and texture my kitchen, then I'll paint. The texture I've got on the walls in other rooms is a flat type of texturing and I'm planning on having this done to match. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks.

Robin
