three different kitchen cabinets

We remodeled our house right after we bought it. You know how you add things as you go. Thinks it’s called a change order. Well, I did. We would have had three places to eat if I left as it was in one small area. I got an idea to add a pantry and use the old kitchen cabinets to use them. So the kitchen has dark wood cabinets and as you can see the pantry has kind of ugly brown and beige ones. They do have all pull out drawers and all soft close.

Here’s where it gets crazy. I want to add a cabinet that’s like the one in the picture that’s bright coral maybe. Not the color I want though. But they will have a flat front.
So three different cabinets! These would go in the same room as the remodeled kitchen. Where I have some beautiful hate to get rid of but have to😿 redoing rooms so it’s find of messy right now 🤷🏼‍♀️ guess I have to add that picture in replies won’t let me add more.

First pic is remodeled
Second is pantry two pics
Third is what I want to build in so I have a desk area and supply cabinet.
Third is where the desk would go.

I could remove the doors in the pantry. Ideas?

    I'm not understanding the Dilemma.

You need/want a desk area in your kitchen?

Let's see all four walls of the existing kitchen.

I would NOT remove doors for a pantry space, The mess will be over whelming. Paint everything all the same color so at least it LOOKS similar.

I would start with a good EDIT in the newly remodeled space. You only need what you USE.

The refrig. would drive me crazy, I'd get a counter depth refrig.

I'd remove the last upper cabinet, it is too close to the window. Remove all the hammocks.

Can you mount your microwave under an upper to free up the counter space?

Thank you for your advice but I didn’t ask for anyone’s opinion on my stuff. Please refrain from criticizing on what isn’t the issue at hand as most people don’t appreciate unwanted critiques. Stick to the subject at hand and people would respect your opinion more. Now move on.

What will you do with those two beautiful pieces? What will the new cabinets do that those two pieces do not?

Is the pantry a separate space from the kitchen?

Heres the pantry area that’s off the main kitchen. As you can see the pantry has doors to close when you want to. Still need to paint them but unsure of what colors. Working with SW on that. Last view is from the dining living room. The first pic gives you the coffee bar on the right.

As to the older piece’s guess I’ll sell or donate to habitat. My old house was 3500 sq ft this one is 1800 so something needs to go. We had four bedrooms and a private office. I do need a desk and like this idea. Right now it’s storing antiques.

I honestly must be stupid I have no idea what is what and in all cases if you do not want the answer do not ask the question. From what I can figure out you have a apntry with doors so it can standalone . Do not know what the pic with the dark cabinets is showing when you talk about the coral ones whay are they being considered at all if the dark ones are new get the rest the same ,Kitchen office space is sometimes the only answer but usually becomes a drop zone and messy .

I can see adding a bank of cabinets in the style you’re considering. At first I would have said no to three different door atyles but your pantry is somewhat closed off from the rest of the kitchen. I’d probably consider painting the old pantry cabinets in the same color as the new ones just so they blended a bit more - if it bothers you. If not, you have doors to close off the pantry when you have guests over or you personally don’t want to see the mix of styles.

Your first picture is the look I would lean into and continue. Your extreme differences in cabinetry, I can't imagine. If the new area were a free standing furniture piece it might work.,.but then again I would argue the two pieces you show in the pic of where you want this new desk--they do not work with your remodeled cabinetry, IMPO. Before I added I would deal with the existing mismatch. The barn doors--they have to go too. That area is a butler's pantry and looks like it belongs in another home. It looks like before you renovated your kitchen you should have done a total gut and incorporated that area into the larger kitchen. It might be time now. Can you contact the renovated cabinets' creator and get it all to match?

Three cabinet finishes in one room can totally work, it just needs a plan. The dark wood kitchen stays the anchor. The old pantry cabinets are the problem child, so I'd paint them, either a color pulled from your counters or the same color as the new piece, so you're really at two finishes, not three. Then the new flat front cabinet becomes the intentional accent. Coral is bold but fun on a single furniture-like piece. Just repeat that color once or twice somewhere else in the space so it looks planned, not leftover.

The issue with the coral is that your rugs and maybe some of your furnishings and the cabinetry will not work well with it. When we moved to our current open floor plan house the island was painted a pine green, which I liked, but it was just enough off from our rugs and furniture that it looked terrible. I have never liked gray but ended up painting the island Dovetail by SW, a neutral that allows our art, rugs, etc to carry the space. This is not said because I dislike coral, I have a large space painted in Coral Island by SW. And I do not think that a gray is the answer for your space, it is that sometimes colors we like are not the correct fit and exploring all options allows a better result.

"Thank you for your advice but I didn’t ask for anyone’s opinion on my stuff. Please refrain from criticizing on what isn’t the issue at hand "

It all relates, if you post a design issue and the "stuff" is ignored then you are likely not getting very useful advise. Your defensive response potentially hints to your own frustration with what has evolved. The redone kitchen is sleek and modern and the pantry is not, if it were me I would change the doors of the cabinets in the pantry to align better with the kitchen before adding in more cabinetry. A desk and additional cabinetry could potentially be a different color and work well but it needs to relate to what is there to look good.

Think the idea of replacing the cabinet doors is a game changer! Just what I needed to hear! We don’t entertain at all and both in our seventies so it’s just for us to enjoy.

Thanks all for your views I’ll take them into consideration. Have a great life.
