Choose A Sofa

I need Help choosing a Sofa.

I have already chosen Art work that I am designing the living room around. The paint color has also been chosen

Here is a link to Sofa's that I am considering. I will be changing the accent pillows to further tie in with the room colors. They will be green and and a burnt red.

The art work, wall color and ligting is also on the above link.

I am going for a Tuscan or traditional themed room.

All advice welcome.

Thank you,

    #2 is contemporary.

#3 is my favorite, only because it's one of the styles I love. #1 is fine if you don't mind skirts.

Big ? is, have you been able to sit in all of them and judge their comfort? That is very important, as is their construction.

My living room is 16x20 so it is big enough to accomodate a Big Sofa and 1 chair without feeling cramped. Yes
I have sat in all the sofa's and they are all comfortable and child friendly which is important to me.

I'd go with #1 for a traditional look and #3 to play up the Tuscan.

With the paint color being lighter, I'd go with #3. It will be a pretty and rich contrast and will go beautifully with the artwork.

    #3 for sure.

    # 3 is my favorite, too!

I hate hate hate couches with all those loose pillows. They just get in the way and clutter up things.

The arms on #3 look way too low. I'd feel like I was going to fall off the edge.

#1 looks cozy, without all those silly pillows.

I really like the lines on #2 (though I'd be concerned that the arms are too high) but it does have a contemporary look to it. (Odd, as I don't normally like contemporary...)

I agree with pbrisjar, too many pillows on #1 and #2. I like just two pillows on a couch - if you have more where do you sit?

I think #2 goes the best with the style of artwork. It looks like the side pillows might be comfy to curl up against too.

I am changing the pillows to help tie in the art work so I could simply add just 2 accent pillows. The pillows that are included with the sofa will be given away.

I think #3 is the best-looking sofa. I also find sofas with low arms more comfy.

Not a fan of t-cushions, ,but of the two couches, I would pick #3. A more interesting feel than #1, I think. #2 is too contemporary in feel for the look you want, imo.

I hate to say this, but I think you should keep looking. #1 and #3 I don't feel really know who they are as sofas, ha, ha! I feel like they are mixing styles within the same piece and, to my eyes, it's not working. #2 is most true to itself, but isn't the look you want.

But, picking from just those three, I think #1 would be the easiest to work with-- I think the pillows you choose could change the look and it would be the most flexible look in the long run.

Sighh I wish I could choose another Sofa. These are the most resonably priced sofa's that are large, comfy, have arms and are child friendly without being leather. (I am shocked at how many no arm sofa's are out there)
I also do not believe in buying a sofa online by sight only. I like to sit in them to see how they feel.

Hmm so it looks like the consensus is for #3 with a good amount of votes for #1. I will let you know which one I will choose.

    I like #1 best.

I really like #3. I have a sofa similar to it that has held up really well over the last 6 years. Even with two puppies climbing all over it. :)

I hear ya! If you want to give us your general area and budget, maybe we can do some online research if you aren't 100% happy with your options?

But, which would YOU pick? Will it be possible for you to go sit on them? I do think the comfort factor trumps just about everything!

I think #2 is beautiful--probably because the arms are similar to what we're looking at in a sofa. Where is it from, if you don't mind my asking? The one we're looking at is a Stickley.

Having said that, if you're going for a traditional/Tuscan feel, you'd probably be happier with one of the others.

I think I will get #3 simply because the more I look at #1 the more I hate the skirt. These Sofa's are from raymour and flanagan. I live in the north Bronx and usually shop in westchester NY.

The only other furniture stores are Bob's I refuse to buy a sofa from there and Thomasville whose prices are way above my sofa cap of $1000. I set my cap at $1000 with the understanding that by having a constant stream of children in my house any sofa will eventually show damage and I will be buying another one in 2 years time. As the children in my family get older perhaps I will take the plunge towards a high end sofa.

Now I have to attempt to find a TV stand to match this I found an end table I added it to the picture link.

Just to make it a bit easier...

Hmmm Thanks I tried to post it to the site but never did figure out how.

What do you guys think is it better than the gold with the skirt. Mind You I am still hunting for a Tv stand. So far it looks just OK no wow factor maybe accessories will help.

Ok here are the final two choices as per your votes.

Any sugestions for a TV stand?

    2 possible end tables

    #1

    #2

I chose sofa #3 as the votes leaned more in that direction

Now I am trying to add a TV stand. This is a Credenza I am thinking of using as a TV stand, but am unsure of how it looks. If it is out of place or if it looks nice ?

I choose this piece because it is light. The dark wood TV stands were beginning to make the room look to dark with the chocolate sofa?

Below are 2 possible end tables that I may choose if I get this credenza.

Please all advice welcome? This is my first real attempt at decorating my house to my sense of style.
