Both of my sinks have rear drains, and I thought I knew the answer, but I just went to look to be sure. They both have p-traps, but they come out to the side of the disposer and the cabinet. Nothing that I can see or tell behind it. You can turn that puppy any direction you want it -- even out the front if you want to keep the side space clear for something else. Does that help?

You'll love the big sink. I have a similar one in stainless and am so happy to have it.

Our cleanup sink is 36" wide, 10" deep, left rear drain, with a batch disposal, and the p-trap comes out the side. Batch disposals are usually even bigger than continuous feed ones. We also have room for a hot water dispenser on the left side, in front of the disposal, leaving the right side completely clear for pull-out storage.

I'm not exactly sure what a p-trap is, but here's a picture of my prep sink's disposal that I have handy. The disposal is attached to the rear drain, and even though the cabinet is only 18" wide, all of the usual plumbing stuff (plus the vent) all seem to fit fine:
