i didn't realize that the bronze loses it's finish...it's color? what does it end up looking like? I don't want it if it's going to change on me...oh dear...do i have to start looking for faucets all over again?

Desertsteph, I think the faucets are fine. I have heard the doorknobs can start to show bright yellow brass over time as the ORB patina starts to age and wear.

Maybe someone here can show you a photo and explain it better.

Baldwin's Venetian Bronze is not a living finish. I went with their oil rubbed bronze for all of my hardware and now I'm wishing that I went with Venetian Bronze. I haven't noticed a change in the finish yet, but I really like the way it looks now and don't want it to change in the future.

Thank you, Juddgirl2. I have read good things on Baldwin's quality. I am going to go find one of their showrooms.

The quality is excellent! My husband thought I was crazy at first when I splurged on all new specialty door hardware from Baldwin over the much less expensive standard big box brand, but it really does make a difference. The oval knobs that I have are so heavy and solid, and the back plates are just gorgeous!

It definitely helps to see the different finishes in person before making your decision. I purchased mine online but from a local supplier, so I saved on shipping. Good luck!

thx pippit! i don't have any doors in the kitchen so maybe i'll be ok then. i'll put brushed nickel on the other doors (I think).

hadn't even started thinking about coordinating that stuff!
