Cabs In! Pics!

It's been a busy week or so. Cabs are in and appliances are staged in the living room and back porch. Soapstone guy was here earlier today. It went ok. We are in disagreement about where seams should go. He thinks right on the radius of the curve of the corner of the sink. Doesn't sound right to me. We are going to go over later this week and see the template on the stone. May end up buying some more stone. The cabs are really tall! I feel like Alice in Wonderland! I was a little worried about the color choice- "Divinity" by Medallion. I love it! It looks very creamy in our kitchen. A few hiccups with the cabs (MW drawer cab has to be remade, cab for sink has small superficial paint crack that probably can be repaired, if not, then replaced). Overall , I am happy.

They're already beautiful. Soapstone on those is going to be to die for. What variety did you select?

Really lovely!! Love the Medallion cabinetry, style and color. Can you tell me what color paint you have on the walls? Very nice deep cream and really, all of your colors look great with your dog!!

Mary, your cabinets are beautiful. I love the color too. They are exactly what I have in mind for my kitchen. Are your hinges ORB or black? Can't wait to see them with the soapstone.

Beautimous! (love your dog too! WAY cute!)

I'm not a fan of that backsplash :oP But the dog is adorable. Did I mention the cabinets rock? Gad they look like they're 12' tall and just wonderful!

Oh lovely "pulls" heh heh I hope someday my kitchen looks like that! It must be so fun to be so far along.

Be sure to share whan the counters go in! Soapstone will be fab with those cabinets!

Thanks everyone for your compliments. Regarding Maggie, my dog, I had the floor guys match the stain to her coat color so I won't see so much of her hair! Just kidding...

vwhippiechick - The soapstone I ended up going with is Green Mountain Original. It is a harder variety. The fabricator is local. I couldn't beat the price

its_justme- The wall color is Sherwin Williams Rice Grain (6165) in eggshell.

cheri127- The hinges are Amerock black. Amerock is the standard hinge for Medallion cabs. The black was the closest in color to the the ORB hardware I have chosen.

Your cabs are really beautiful! How tall are your ceilings? I think it all looks great. I am thinking about stacking cabs like yours but maybe your ceiling is higher? mine is 9'. Congrats! Holly

Gosh....your kitchen is so gorgeous already...and it's not even finished! Look how many people you've already made happy looking at these "in progress" pictures...Keep those pictures coming!

Thanx so much for sharing, Mary. I think I enjoy 'in progress' pix almost more than the All Done ones. Really helps me learn how it all the pieces start falling into place.

The floors are beautiful. Really like those pendants--thinking of something like them for my kit. Nice modern edge to traditional look.

Detailing on the trim work on the pass-thru--Wow. Begs for an extreme closeup!

Great job. Keep the pix coming!!

Beautiful cabinets! I'm especially excited looking at your kitchen because I'm about to order Medallion cabinets in "White Chocolate", Brookhill Door. Your "Divinity" color is beautiful! Now you have me second guessing my choice. You've really helped me regarding floor choice. I'm trying to decide on what shade of wood/laminate to get. One of my choices is exactly your color floor and it looks terrific! How was the quality control on your cabinets when you received them? Any problems? Enjoy! I can't wait to see your further progress.

Ditto all the above--wonderful! The name Divinity itself makes me want it, too. So, where are you putting the soapstone seam, and why?

hurry up and finish! i can't wait to see. it looks great already.

Oh, they are very lovely (and I was not a white or creamy cab lover 'til I saw all the terrific pics of kitchens with them on this forum!). My friend is going to flip when I show her your pics (she's planning a kitchen with white cabs)!

Your cabinets are fabulous...your dog...priceless! We also have a golden retriever (our third). Aren't they just the best dogs in the world?!

Love it! Hope to have something like it in my kitchen eventually. Which style of Medallion cabinets are these? I love the Divinity color!

    Thanks for sharing

Cooper and Bailey say cool kitchen, Maggie, you did good helping your human pick everything out. Woof.

Oh, everything is looking SO gorgeous and it's not even done yet!! Thanks for sharing these pictures - - I'll hope you'll post more right away!!

    Beautiful.

But when did my dog go visit you? I didn't miss him. Don't you just love him?

First I thought, what great cabinets. She must be very happy and excited about them. Then I scrolled down a little and saw the dog. Maggie just makes me smile. She's beautiful! I just want to hug her! Give her a big one from me. Then tell Maggie to give you a big hug back for picking such great cabinets. Good job.

    They are beautiful! Congrats!

    Mary,

It's STUNNING so far!! WOW!! I am in love with your cabinets and I'm sure you're patting yourself on the back for a job well done so far! You'll have to keep us all updated with the soapstone, especially since I'll be using the same folks! I almost went with Medallion Cabinetry but then decided on Shiloh because I got much more attention from the Shiloh dealer here in Waynesville than the folks who deal with Medallion.

Keep on posting pics as you finish--you've got a beauty! Actually, 2 beauties--Maggie has to be included in that statement (I'm a veterinarian and always love when people post photos of their pets with their rooms!)

Thanks again for all your kind words!

hollylh- the ceilings are 9 feet.

bbtondo- I was at first going to go with "white chocolate". Once I brought it home though the color changed in our kitchen. Glad I brought the paint sample home! Glad I went with Divinity!

bdaykitchen- the cabs are Medallion Santa Cruz.

Nancy- Maggie is a rescue. Can you believe there are rescue groups for Goldens?!
