Hi TH, I see you've been posting, so hope you see this. I was just wodering if you ever finished your DR. Does anyone else remember when she teased us with a few pix? She was painting it black and it looked awesome! Did you ever find furniture?

Inquiring minds want to know.

Sorry, don't mean to highjack this post, but Patty Cakes I've been thinking about you everyday hoping to see some news about the house. So tell us, what is going on? Any photo's yet? You must be just about ready to move in or have you moved in yet? Girl, don't stay away so long, I miss you!!

I think she mentioned recently that she hadn't done anything else to it. I'm also waiting to see how her office turned out.

Oh, I'm busted, LOL! Sorry---I'm not always the greatest with follow-ups. (blushing!) ;)

Patty, I'm sad to say I don't have a dining set yet. I've looked at a few along the way, but I'm waiting for that *perfect* look. I think I know what I want for the table, but then I go back and forth on the style of chairs and if they should match or not, yada yada... Then Mr. Hottie comes along and tells me we don't have the funds for what I'm thinking---he always spoils it! ;) So I'm going to be patient....

I went to an auction and bid on this oil painting---it just spoke to me! Plus I fell in love with the gilded gold and black frame with Venice---I think it was meant for me. :)

I was thinking of getting a really large gilded mirror to lean against the wall across from this window. I have a gorgeous crepe myrtle with fushcia blooms that goes all summer in that window---it even gives a bit of privacy without having window treatments. But the fuschia blooms with the dark green foilage is really very striking with the black walls!

And DH's study looks soooo much nicer since all that nasty, peeling paper came down!! I have yet to decorate the walls--I have most of his stuff framed. I'll probably need help down the road on how to arrange it once I get it all together.

    Thanks for asking!

Patty, are you in Austin now? What is the situ with your home---I was thinking about you not too long ago and wondering the same. You've been gone a long time! We need an update! :)

I had never seen that DR before in black. That is one gorgeous room and I love that new piece of art.
What color black did you use.
    I also love the chandelier.

That piece of art is beautiful and goes so well in your room.

I agree! That artwork couldn't possibly be more complimentary to the room. It's perfect! What a find!

TH, thank you soooooo much for posting! I couldn't remember if you had posted finished pictures or not. It's so very chic and elegant! The picture is perfect~I have the same black/gold frame on a Victorian picture. As for the furniture, definitely hold off until you find what is exactly right as well as the price. I'm thinking of painting my DR a shade of black and doing the picture frame moulding also. You've been my inspiration.;o)

Patsy, my computer has been down~i'm at my DD's in Orange County. I've closed on the house in Austin, but broke my arm 4 weeks ago~this has really set me back. I'm thinking it's going to be more like the end of August since I need physical therapy. The house looks beautiful! I can't say when i'll get some pictures up since I packed the cord from my camera. How is your house coming along? Send me an email. ;o)

Patty Cakes, so sorry to hear you broke your arm. Ouch!! I'll e-mail you some photo's of the house.

Lovely frame and oil. I love your idea of a mirror to reflect the flowers and greenery view out your pretty window. Black is strong & sophisticated, but can be overwhelming. Your feminine chandelier, lovely wainscoting, and a floral view will really keep it pretty.

Looking forward to your photos as you move along with this space!

Thanks, Red! Thanks, y'all, for the compliments on my oil!

Patty, hope your arm heels quickly! You're going to need it moving and decorating! Send us pics of your new home when you get a chance---we want to see!

Lyban, my paint was ICI. When you go into the store, each color card shows on the back the undertones. I can't remember the paint color name, but it was the blackest black that was a neutral.

I meant "heals", LOL!! Patty, I hope your arm heals quickly!

texashottie, that is one beautimous room! I would never have thought to paint a room that color, but with the details (panels) and the gorgeous wood floor, not to mention the beautiful painting, that room is on its way to WOW! (I agree that the addition of a mirror across from the window to accentuate the crepe myrtle would be awesomeness -- and who doesn't love a crepe myrtle? ^_^)
