Fabric 2nds stores in NY

Hi all! I was so excited to find this forum. Is there anyone out there from Long Island that has found any good fabric stores? Has anyone been to Silk Surplus in Westbury? If so, what is the selection like? Its about an hour drive for me and I wanted to know if it was worth visiting. I am looking for fabric for my dining room (I am making pinch pleat drapes). Thanks for your input : )
