I sold my entire kitchen on Craigslist. I put the appliances in and this couple came to look at them and asked me what I was going to do with my cabinets. I shrugged and they bought them, too!! They also bought my sink and faucet.

I sold a stand-alone island and my formica countertops, too. My husband was thrilled that money was actually coming IN instead of going OUT!!

I'm 6 weeks into this remodel and it feels as if time is standing still. I go home every night and don't seem to notice much of anything happening.

There is running water, but the disposal is not hooked up. The refrigerator and dishwasher are not yet wired, as the panels are not yet painted.

I'm still microwaving on the bathroom countertop and washing dishes in the shower.

cindyandmocha...I was where you are about 5 weeks ago. Today my crew is pretty much wrapping it up. They are such nice, courteous guys...I'm gonna kinda miss them arriving every day at 6:45 a.m.:(

I hope you enjoy the process! It's really exciting to see all your choices come together! Yes, post pictures as now I am going to be experiencing "Kitchen Remodeling Withdrawl Syndrome." I'm gonna need a fix real soon:)

It is really exciting to get started, isn't it! That first day of demolition was really stunning to me. Such a shock to go into the empty shell of the room!

Why not give us a little taste of your plan.... what color cabinets? what kind of countertop?

Hey Eastbay, its a galley kitchen. I'm using custom maple cabinets with all drawers of course. They are going to be stained a fruitwood color (same as Studio One at American Signature Furniture). I am using that color since it's my dining room furniture I got for an anniversary present a few years ago. The doors are a plain slab front.

The countertop I'm really hoping to find is Geriba Beach Granite that I fell in love with at a granite yard several months back, but haven't found since. It has tons of movement.

The tile is the same as in my den - italian arghila porcelain. I love it.

Congrats on the first day and it is soooo exciting! Our project is on the wind down after two months which at times feels like yesterday and a life time! Many ups and downs but I do love it I just want 100% completion! Again good luck and keep us informed with the progress.

cindymocha, Very excitig for you! The granite slab is gorgeous. Granite is a tricky thing...once you have your mind set on a piece, it can be difficult. I hope you can find another slab to love!

We started in February and I feel like e4849: it feels like little is happening now day to day.
