I received a sales flyer for several Juki sergers which I have never seen in person, etc. Does anyone have an opinion on these for ease of use, reliability, etc.?
Ok I've had time to cool off & would like to apologize to you pf, my remark was made right after reading the Who Owns JAS thread & I was still mad about it. I should have kept my responses to that thread.
As for Juki, I've sewn on their industrial machines in the past & they were work horses, solid & reliable. If they're anywhere near the quality of their industrial models, you'll find them satisfactory. And I believe they're made in Japan/China.
I attached a link that gives Juki a good grade, & has a link to a serger overview article at the bottom that may help also.
Not sure what is "hot" here, each person's choice must be very individual and I respect everyone who's pocketbook matches their view. For puzzlefan: join us at jewishvoiceforpeace.org; you'll find like minded folks.
Well, I have a Juki that is about 24 years old and it is a workhorse. I have never had it in for service. I just keep it clean ad oiled and it keeps sewing. It's an MO-634DE, so it isn't anything fancy. No cover stitch. But it sure has held up well. Also, Juki used to make sergers for a lot of other sewing machine companies. Don't know if they still do. I just purchased a "new to me" Husqvarna Viking Huskylock 936 for the cover stitch. I am still learning this machine and I can say it is a much quieter machine. Hope this helps with your decision. I have had a Juki serger since 1992 and all i can say is its the best! I am a regular sewer and have never had issues with this machine, while my pfaff has always had issues. i would buy another juki in a second. just my two cents.
