Civil War Re-Enactor sewing

My daughter does Civil War tours. I am making her a pinner apron. I am having a hard time finding typical stitch counts or sewing methods used then. I usually sew all by hand, but have a sewing machine.

She would like her things to be as authentic as possible.

Thanks for any suggestions.
