Do you have the needle placed correctly in the clamp. The flat part of the needle should go against the flat part of the clamp. Is your needle bent--try a new needle. The problem will likely be with the needle not the bobbin.

Do you have a manual? If not I suggest you buy one on line. A manual is as important as any part of your machine. It tells you how your machine works and solves a lot of problems you may have.
