Thanks, Minnie! Yes, we dance with a group called Mandarin Marauders, after being away from it for a few years. DH & I actually met at a singles sd club in Minnesota. We've been to one national convention in Portland OR, where 32,000 dancers were present, and have already made reservations for the one next summer in Charlotte, NC. Have been to state conventions as well. It's good exercise, no smoking or drinking alcohol allowed, great mental exercise to keep old age at bay. It's Friendship Set to Music. There are square dance clubs all over the world, including Saudi Arabia, Japan, etc, and the calling (directions from the leader) is always done in English. It's great fun, plus it gives me an excuse to sew adult-size Barbie clothes!
