Use the pattern pieces to cut traditional facings from the dress fabric? Finish those edges with binding.

Or cut a half-lining for just the shoulder and neck area. Which might lie flatter than separate armhole and neckline facings.

There's also the bias-tape method, which would involve making bias tape out of the fabric (or perhaps out of a lining fabric), and top-stitching it to anchor it.
