I never saw a pattern. I made the long robe from 3 towels. One folded in half length wise with a hole for the neck & a split down the rest of the front side. I used a neck pattern from something else. Center a towel across that & attach it & then do the sides & when they meet the crosswise towel, you sew the rest of it to make sleeves. Use one towel cut in half for the front & back for a jacket. A whole towel front & back will make a long robe. I put a zipper in the front. Just make a T shape from your towels. Split the towel section all way down for the front. Leave back intact. Don't get heavy thick towels. The weight will wear you out trying to wear it.
I saw one at the swim meet that a mom had made. She used big towel for the body (lenght ways) and then sewed a hand towel matching mid point to mid point and made a casing in it to make it like a hood. It looked neat.
I made a robe similar to joansews above. I used two fringed hand towels for the bodice. The front side was sewn to the back half up to the neckline leaving an opening large enough to pull over my head. (boat neckline) Two bath towels were adjusted to the width needed to fit around me by easing a little in the front and back and sewn to the bottom of the hand towels. (centered) Then the sides were sewn up from the bottom and out to ends of the hand towels to form the sleeve. This made a long robe, but you can cut it to any length you want. You can also cut the front towels in half, use the neckline part of a pattern you like and hem and face the front as you would a blouse or jacket. You do have to choose your towels for the size you will need.
I made matching ones for me and my DD back in the '70's. Then one day while cooking on my gas stove I caught my sleeve on fire. Tossed out the cover ups. Toweling is NOT flame retardant. Kathy G in MI
