I tried to use Velcro as a closure but am having a big problem.

My rather old White machine sews everything else beautifully, and have tried using heavier needle, reg. and quilting thread, various stitch lengths as well as tension & pressure foot settings...but regardless of what I try, seams are not well sewn & stitches would never hold.

Anyone else have this problem??? All tips appreciated...
