Here are a few suggestions for sewing slippery fabrics
Use a temporary basting spray
Baste by hand
Use a walking foot or a teflon foot--the walking foot holds the 2 pieces together and the teflon foot cuts down on drag over the plate.
Use tissue paper between the layers. This will pull away after it's perforated by the needle

I'd say: tissue paper (&/or spray starch) & hand basting. I've also seen clear tape (like Scotch) used - maybe on the Sewing w/ Nancy TV show(?) - it's torn away after stitching like tissue paper.

Do not use any type of tape with a glue on the back--like scotch tape. The glue gets on the thread and gums up the needle--makes a real mess

At the office supply stores there is a glue stick called removable glue; it's used to turn anything into a re-positionable post-it. try using this to hold the pieces together close to the seam your working on, but not where the needle will pass through it. It washes out afterward, just apply spot treatment. If you're just fighting it sliding off the table use a small piece of that rubberized shelf webbing on the table to keep it from wandering off.
