Homemade pattern tips and hints needed

I made a pattern from one of my favorite tops and have a question regarding placement on fabric for cutting. It's a very simple pullover top with 2 pattern pieces, front and back centers placed on fold of fabric.

How I made the pattern is I just laid out the shirt on the pattern paper and traced the outline and added seam and hem allowances. The shirt was outside out while I did this.

Would I need any special pattern placement on the fabric-to-be-cut, such as pattern face down or placed on the wrong side of fabric?

Would that only depend on type of fabric?

Are there any other considerations that I have overlooked?

I just want to make sure I haven't missed the obvious (and not so obvious!) as missing the obvious comes so naturally to me! lol

Thanks for any hints and tips!

Cathy
