Down or foam for HUGE pillow?

I just won an auction for the most gorgeous Ann Gish silk french, or box, pillow cover. It's normally about $800, but I got it for 5% of that. The cover is 60x30x4" which is bigger than my kitchen island! It's more like a crib mattress than a pillow.

With than image in mind, I was thinking of stuffing it down and polyfill and them adding ribbon tufts so it looks like an antique European mattress. If I do that, it can't be laundered. Otherwise, I could do a 4" foam core, wrapped in batting. That would be removable, but then it's more like a pillow.

Which way would give the most dramatic impact while still being at least semi-practical?

I still don't really know where I'm going to put this thing, but no dogs, kids, or husband allowed.
