Silgranit sink model difference

I want to order my sink and I'm not sure if there is an installation difference between the 2 models below.

The sink will be undermounted with zero reveal, single faucet cutout plus a hot water cutout.

The faucet and hot water will be mounted on the granite.

Both sinks below have identical bowl sizes.

The top sink is 22" front to back, 33" wide (cutouts would go thru granite and sink)

while the bottom sink is 19.25" front to back, 32" wide.

Just make sure your counters are deep enough and that there is enough inches of granite in front and back of the sink to hold your sink securely. Usually a counter will be 25 inches deep so if your sink is 22 there might be a problem. We had to re-order the 18" x 33" to make it fit and the wait was very long. neertheless, you will love your silgranite sink.

    Hi,
The top picture is the drop-in model, and the bottom is the undermount, which is what you're looking for. Congrats on the sink, I wanted a Blanco myself, but DH prefers Elkay e-granit because of the smart divide option.

There is no difference between the two since you plan to undermount. Though the total width is 22" on the drop-in, the sink itself is 17" on both; i.e., they are exactly the same sink. The only other thing is that on the drop-in, there are small pre-drilled guide holes, though that shouldn't make much difference to a good fabricator.

Does one cost less? I'd either go with that one, or ask your fabricator which one they'd prefer to work with. I have one of each, and neither one caused much consternation.

The only thing I was disappointed about, that you may want to check on:
I asked for flush reveal (zero) and installed they are slightly negative. I don't see why they had to be this way, but the rep said they are lined up with a lower part of the sink, not the top, since the sink is narrower at the bottom than the top. Didn't make sense to me, but I didn't push it since it was already done. If you want zero, specify at the top of the sink. (They may give you the "Duh, that's always the way it's done" but you can always say you know someone who had it done otherwise though zero was specified.)

Hi nancyfay- did you end up ordering the duo-mount version? I have the same dilemma. The top/under-mount (duo) version is in stock at several stores in town, but the undermount only version is on backorder from Blanco and won't be shipping for another 2 weeks. We have a very narrow window of opportunity to put the sink in since it'll be done while we're on vacation. I'm wondering if it really was a tight fit for the duo-mount version?

Funny you should ask: I was working on the math today with the GC and cabinet company.

I bought the undermount-only version because I was convinced there'd be a gap between the top and the granite.

Today's issue is the faucet - some of them dictate a minimum clearance behind to the wall for the handle to move. First account for the other dimensions: the cabinet base is 24" and the sink is 19 1/4" front to back. Plus allow for backsplash.

One faucet (Delta Talbot) had a 2 5/8 footprint plus 2 1/2 clearance. I will give myself an extra 3/4" by overlapping the 1" lip with the cabinet frame, but that's still cutting it oh so close.

Now I know to get the Allora, with a slightly smaller footprint and 1" smaller required clearance.
