I purchased a needlepoint kit and finished the needlework, but now it is just the excess canvas surrounding the piece. How do I finish it off? Do I fold the excess back and sew it to the piece then frame it? Do I back it with felt or something similar?

If anyone can walk me through the process I would appreciate it!
