Halter dress for baby

I have several yards of knitted fabric (really stretchy) and I would like to make a halter dress for my 7 month old baby. I have been unable to find a pattern in that size or for use with a stretchy fabric.

If any one has any idea how to make a halter dress for that size or knows of a pattern that I could use, I would greatly appreciate the information. I've been looking for a long time and have been unable to find anything. Thanks!!

It wouldn't surprise me if halters would be a choking (strangling) hazard for an infant.

I've seen knitted/crocheted halters for babies online and I've seen the pillow-dress halter patterns. I don't know why you couldn't use knitted fabric with a regular pattern. Try it and if it doesn't turn out the way you like, it sounds like you'll have plenty of fabric left over for something else. Check for patterns on eBay.
