stretch fabric with bad hem job

I picked up my brand new pair of expensive Eileen Fisher slacks from the seamstress, and I'm afraid she may have ruined them. We agreed that she would use a blind hem but instead she just sewed a straight seam, like the hem of a pair of blue jeans. I am absolutely sick about it. It looks terrible!

The fabric is a lightweight stretch crepe (synthetic) and it looks like she used a stretchable thread. My question is whether or not I can very carefully pick this hem out stitch by stitch without ruining the fabric.

I used to sew as a teenager, but that was long ago. I would love some advice on this!

Thanks!
