Unless the seamstress did these free, I would take them back and have her redo them..

Usually they would duplicate the orginal hem.

The only thing about removing the stitches you must be very careful since they are a stretch crepe you could snag them.
Do you know if they were hemmed in a 2 step process where they serged then machine stitched? You could then remove the stitching and hand hem or machine blind hem.
If they were done using a coverstitch that is 1 step and would leave raw edges on the hem, afraid rawedges should be serged or folded.
If they were folded over to close raw edge, then can be blind stitched. Proceed carefully.

Thanks patiohio, I paid her $20 and I'm kind of afraid to let her have them again. The original hem was a blind hem. Anyway it does look like they were serged then machine stitched. Time to get out the magnifier! With so little experience on my part, I very much appreciate your response!
