I just haven't gotten use to the walking foot I have been quilting by
hand so long I am sort of afraid to try machine quilting.
Any suggestions?

I used a walking foot for the first time yesterday. I bought it to finish a quillow I made, to top-stitch 1/4-inch around all sides. I think it's the best sewing investment I have ever made! I will use nothing but the walking foot for the whole quillow from now on. The very thick corners didn't get caught with the needle just moving up and down in one place; instead, the walking foot kept it moving. I bought it at Joanns and was worth the $14 investment (without a coupon).

I love the Bernina #10 edgestitch foot, the #35 invisible zipper foot, #37 patchwork foot, the walking foot and the ruffler, but they're ALL good. I keep adding to my collection (most run in the $20 range). Never can have too many gadgets/feet!!

my regular hem foot for making a really straight stitch, my rolled hem foot (when I finally got the hang of it, I use it ALL the time), and my hidden zipper foot.

I still haven't figured out how to do a blind hem or use the 1-step buttonhole foot. I think I may have a problem with the buttonholer on my machine.

I have two drop feed machines, a needle feed machine, and one with a walking foot and needle feed. I use the feet listed above on either the drop or needle feed machines. I have cording feet in a variety of sizes for the walking foot machine, too (as well as a folder for binding).
