ugh, what a scarry ordeal. I do hope the surgery goes well and they get it all.

I wish I could get Dh in to a Derm, he's got weird moles that are changing, on his back. But he totally ignores me about it

Thanks, Bianchi. Glad you got it done. Get this, my SEVEN year old granddaughter had to have one removed from her scalp last month. A plastic surgeon did it, and it took 16 stitches to close it. Oh nicethyme, please bug your husband to go. A friend of ours had one on his back that itched and changed shape and when he finally had it removed, it was huge (underneath the skin). It had spread out in rays. The surgery was quite extensive. Tell your husband that! Hopefully he will have it seen to.

Hope all goes well for you. Have an appt with the Dr to get a referal to a derm. the oncologist said he didn't think they were anything but wanted some on my back looked at

That poor child, 7 years old. But I am so glad they had it done. Please everyone watch for moles or birthmark changes. The Dr. really gave me a talking to, it can be fatal.

Excellent that you are having it removed.

Basal cell carcinoma is the most recoverable form of cancer. My DH had one removed from his nose 17 years ago and has had no recurrence since.

Your hair should cover any scaring and you'll be good as new.

Glad it didn't morph into something worse!

So sorry to hear you are having surgery. I had to have a birthmark removed years ago, and it was NO fun. I got mine
in time, but only because my doctor sent me to have it done
right from his office that day.

What part of Colorado are you in?

Yep, any mole or birthmark that changes color, size, itches or bleeds is VERY critical to have a dr look at. An elderly friend of my Mom had one on her nose that she didn't take seriously. By the time she mentioned it to the dr, the carcinoma had spread and she ended up having several surgeries to remove subsequent ones. Over the last 10 years of her life (she passed away last year at 97), she lost most of the skin from her nose and 1 cheek, went thru skin grafts, etc. So glad you caught it early and that you reminded ALL of us to be vigilant!

I'll be thinking of you! You're thoughtful to share your story and remind us all. It's so easy to wish things away... but these things are best checked early. Nice... hope your hubby will relent and visit the doc.
What day do you have it done, Bianchi? Aren't we all fortunate though to live in a time when medicine has progressed so far? I'm constantly amazed at what can be fixed.. patched...replaced!

I Lived in Lafayette for several years. That's where I met hubby in High School. Cracked lives in Broomfield, you guys are real close. I'm in Grand Junction now. I sure miss the other side of the slope. As stupid as it sounds, I miss the snow! we just got our fist snow last night, about 1/2 inch.
It doesn't even feel like Colorado here.
