1st bowl WIP

Taking a break from the trays and trying something new.

The wooden bowl was .99 at GW and I'm using plates that I picked up on my TS shopping spree.

Wanted to try TMG's tip of just glueing down the tracing paper...works like a charm!

I, too, am in awe of how small your pieces are. That'll be a great bowl. I love the rim already. How in the WORLD are you cutting so small. Can't even tell if it' shards or glass.

I LOVE TURTLES! (we have one named JUB JUB) That is so cute, can't wait to see more. Those tiny little pieces! OH MY!

BLUSH BLUSH, AWW shucks...you guys are waaaay too nice!
THANKS! Yeah, nipping the plates that small is a bit of work, but not too bad.
BAMA: I was going for a mexican and/or southwestern look, Thanks for noticing!
CALAMITY: yeah, that table has been officially designated TBM!
MARIA: the rim is just from the plate rim...I toyed with the idea of putting it on the top of the bowl rim, but it would've required even more exact nipping...still might try something there later. I'll work on it some more today and post pictures when I get home from work tonight.
You guys are all so encouraging..Thanks again!

Very nice, I like the southwestern look of it, and I'm not even crazy about southwestern!

I too noticed that little table BEFORE I looked at your bowl. Ya gotta do that one in stained glass!

That's a very cute turtle...made from very tiny pieces!

Here's an update. I'm considering using those turquoise colored shards for the bottom, but not sure if I'll have enough..

OMGOODNESS - those itsy bitsy pieces. Oh, yeah - NOW I see the SoWestern design. Your pieces are so perfectly cut around the edges. REALLY gonna be a nice bowl.

That is awesome.....you've got the nipping down really well!

I love it's little tail. The turquoise would look great against the color of the turtle. It does look either Mexican or Native American.

    I love it's little tail.

Me, too! It made me smile.

Nice edge treatment. Well thought out and I think the whole piece will be grand!

Oh how cute is that. And yes those tiles would look great. Can't wait to see it all done.

That is looking sooo good! The turtle is so cute. Hope you have enough pieces because that is a great color combo you have going.

Ready for grouting. Do I have to ask? Black, right?

    Black! Love this.

yes, black please. Any other color might make the colors look blah. Can't wait to see.

That's darlin' and danged good mosaicing. Hope the black doesn't cover the brown up. I'd use charcoal.

Thanks for the compliments! Charcoal is what I have. I'll try that. Saves me from having to go out and buy more grout! Hoping to have it done this evening. I'll put finished pic on a new thread.

That looks GREAT Cindi! I think your tile choices were good, and I'm sure the grout will make it POP!!
