faucet with sidespray that isn't plastic....

I finally made a decision about a faucet. Got a Kohler Parq bridge faucet with sidespray. Love the faucet, but the spray is mostly plastic. I think they call the sidespray "metal" because it has an extremely thin skin of what I assume is "metal" over the exterior of the spray and the base that holds it upright in the counter. For that amount of money, I would hope plastic wouldn't be used, but according to the Kohler dealer, they all come that way now. The lifetime warranty would cover replacement, but not the plumber's costs, plus it just irritates me no end that all that plastic is sitting there out of sight, waiting to break. Does anyone have a bridge faucet with a sidespray that isn't mostly plastic? Thanks for any suggestions, plus the opportunity to vent.

Waterstone? but I don't know if they have a bridge faucet.

yeah, it bothers me too that Kohler uses the word 'metal' without being more specific. No information about weight.

I emailed another faucet manufacturer about a new faucet they are coming out with next month and they emailed back that one of their sidesprays was 57 grams and another was 220 grams. Talk about honest! They also wrote about the two different kinds of customer needs that the two different sprays were made for. Talk about helpful!

When I email Kohler, I have always received reply emails. It has happened that the information I asked for was sent too. If not, I respond to the Kohler reply and ask again. They then send me another answer email. It has happened that the information I asked for was sent too. Repeat iteration, and repeat as needed, to hone in on the target.

The last thing you want to do is to fall in love with a piece of hardware or an appliance, even if it vibrates.

I have the Perrin & Rowe 4764 bridge faucet with sidespray. The sidespray is heavy and solid. No plastic. My last faucet was a Grohe pull down which was very nice functionally but I was disappointed with the look and feel of it. The P&R is more "work" to use but it is very satisfying to handle, works well, and I love the looks of it.

Davidro1 -- I find it amazing to see how great customer service is with some companies and not so important with others. I live in a remote part of a rural state and can't get to showrooms to actually see what's out there. I'm learning to accept the price I pay for shipping items back as part of living here!

Sayde -- I've been looking at the Perrin & Rowe, as well as Grohe. They look gorgeous

I've been reading other poster's stories of the agony they're going through making all their decisions. I thought I had solved the faucet problem and have been sitting back, just waiting for things to start falling into place. Back to faucet HE LL for a while, I guess. Thanks for listening while I whine!

Built a new home..have the Kohler bridge parq faucet witth sidespray...it has broken twice..in a year. They keep replacing but the lever you push to spray is plastic and continues to just break...with a small piece of plastic falling out. Anyone else having a problem?
